Take a look at what is coming up this week in the world of mixed martial arts

Another busy weekend of MMA is upon us this week with a combined 3 events from both the UFC and Bellator, respectively.

First up is UFC Fight Night 102 on Friday 9th December from Albany, New York. The main event of the evening will be a heavyweight bout between Derrick Lewis (16-4) and Shamil Abdurakhimov (17-4). Whilst in the co-main event, the 12th ranked heavyweight, Francis Ngannou (8-1) will be looking to catapult himself into the top 10 rankings, if he can pick up a win against Anthony Hamilton (15-5).

Elsewhere on the card Gian Villante (14-7) will take on unbeaten Russian fighter Saparbek Safarov (8-0) in his UFC debut. Unbeaten British fighter, Marc Diakiese (10-0) makes his second appearance in the octagon against Frankie Perez (10-2).

Bellator head over to Florence, Italy on Saturday 10th December for their event, Bellator 168 as they combine both their MMA and kickboxing sides of the promotion. The main event will feature Joey Beltran (16-13) take on Alessio Sakara (18-11) in a light heavyweight showdown as the original main event, which was scheduled to be, middleweight champion Rafael Carvalho (13-1) defending his title against Melvin Manhoef (30-13-1) was called off due to a injury sustained by the champion. Also on the card, Phillipe Lins (10-1) takes on Pietro Cappelli (2-1) in a light heavyweight bout. A lightweight contest between Goiti Yamauchi (20-3) and Valeriu Mircea (12-3) is also scheduled.

UFC host their second event of the weekend, UFC 206, from Toronto, Canada on Saturday 10th December as Max Holloway (16-3) takes on Anthony Pettis (19-5) for the interim featherweight championship in the main event as the original main event between Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson was pulled from the card after Cormier injured his adductor tendon, needing surgery.

Donald Cerrone (31-7) takes on Matt Brown (20-15) at welterweight as his fight at UFC 205 against Kelvin Gastelum fell through as he failed to make the 170lb weight limit. Tim Kennedy (18-5) will now face Kelvin Gastelum (12-2) in a middleweight bout and Doo Hoo Choi (14-1) takes on featherweight veteran Cub Swanson (23-7) as he looks to put a mark on the featherweight division.
