With Faber 1-3 in his last four UFC fights rumour’s of his retirement have begun to circle. These rumours have been kept at bay for now as it was announced on Wednesday that Urijah will be facing Brad Pickett at UFC on Fox 22 in his hometown of Sacremento, California.
“The California Kid” lost against Jimmie Rivera at UFC 203 and lost to rival Dominick Cruz at UFC 199 in a bout which was for the UFC Bantamweight championship. Faber who holds a professional record of 33-10 inside the octagon is a fan favourite with his exciting fighting style and always infectious positive attitude. The 37-year old has shown no signs of walking away from the fight game.
Urijah’s opponent Brad Pickett is in a very similar position with him also going 1-3 in his last four fights and at the age of 38 has also been subject to retirement rumours.
Both of these fighters badly need a win and with them both in their late 30’s retirement rumours will always be present. Faber will definitely be the favourite going into this fight but with both men looking to prove a point it could go right down to the wire.
