After suffering a loss in his first professional fight, former WWE Champion, CM Punk is lobbying for his second fight to take place inside the UFC octagon. There have been hints of Punk returning to the octagon but nothing has materialised as of yet. Punk has, however, said even if he does not get a second fight in the UFC he will be fighting somewhere else as he is determined to continue his mixed martial arts career.
“I am working on it feverishly, I’m throwing names at Dana (White), opponents, dates. I don’t know if he’s waiting for a Chicago show or what the deal is but if it doesn’t happen in the UFC, it will happen somewhere else. Punk said to Fox Sports this past Saturday. “I’m dedicated to fighting and training. We’ll get there.” Despite being dominated and then submitted by Mickey Gall inside the first round at UFC 203, Dana White has seemed open to giving Punk a second chance inside the UFC and Punk remains optimistic that his chance will come. “First one’s out of the way and life couldn’t be better,” Punk said. “I still don’t have to wake up to an alarm so I really can’t complain about much.”
