UFC bantamweight contender Brian Caraway has been forced out of a crucial fight with Jimmie Rivera at UFC fight night 103 with an undisclosed injury.
The news of the injury was reported first by MMA Junkie on Wednesday.
With 10 days remaining to the fight night, the UFC are searching for a replacement for Caraway to fight Rivera.
With Caraway getting injured, it has presented an unfortunate turn of events for both Rivera and Caraway, as the winner of the fight would have been in with a shout towards a title shot.
Although Caraway has pulled out, Rivera hopes to stay on the card and keep his momentum going after his biggest win in the UFC to date over longtime top contender Urijah Faber. This also made him first fighter to beat Faber in a non-title bantamweight fight in the UFC.
Late last night, bantamweight contender John Dodson offered to step in and fight Rivera, although there has been no confirmation as yet if the UFC took him up on his offer.
UFC fight night 103 takes place in Pheonix, AZ. The event will be headlined by featherweight prospect Yair Rodriguez as he welcomes back UFC legend and Hall Of Famer B.J. Penn.
