Yoel Romero Receives 60 day Ban

UFC 205 saw a lot of great fights take place, one of those fights were Yoel ‘Soldier Of God’ Romero vs Chris ‘The All American’ Weidman in a fight to decide the No.1 contender’s spot for a crack at UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping.

In a close fight, Romero would come out on top with an impressive flying knee KO followed up by brutal punches before the fight would finally be stopped, but it seems his celebrations were unfit for the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC).

Romero jumped the cage and proceeded to do a soldier’s march around the perimeter of the octagon then re-entered for Bruce Buffer to read the official announcement. Exiting the Fighting area before the fight is officially over is prohibited by the Newyork Commission. Romero will be eligible to return to action on January 12th, 2017.

Romero is likely next in line to face the champ Michael Bisping after his impressive win over Weidman, with the potential title fight with Bisping not happening until after January, although with the UFC you never know who will get that title shot next.
