It now appears as though Hall was hospitalised after suffering a seizure on his way to the weigh-ins. Ariel Helwani reported earlier today that “Hall was on weight and en route to the morning weigh-ins when he fainted and was taken to the hospital.”
Hall made comments early in the week stating that he had been ill during the camp leading up to the cancelled bout, it is unclear if this is related to the alleged seizure, or if it was due to a bad weight cut. At this moment in time Hall will remain in the hospital for observations.
Hall’s opponent Vitor Belfort, who was supposed to call time on his career after this bout made a quick statement on his Instagram page stating he “dedicated 2 months for this training camp. Stayed away from my family and who knows me knows how hard this is for me.” He further went on to wish Hall a speedy recovery.

I dedicated 2 months for this training camp. Stayed away from my family and who knows me knows how hard this is for me. I spent all necessary to have the best structure to achieve my goal. My team had an intense dedication even during the holidays. I did all my fight week obligations, cut the weight and made the fight weight. Unfortunately my opponent had a problem during his weight cut, I wish him a soon recovery @uriahhall .Now I just want to go back home and see my family. Thanks for all the support along this training camp.Love you all!!
Here’s hoping Uriah Hall makes a quick recovery and we see him inside the Octagon again soon. Sound off in the comments below.
