After Tony Ferguson emerged from UFC FN 98 victorious in an impressive performance against the ex-Lightweight champion, Rafael Dos Anjos, he moves to 9 straight wins, which puts him at the very top of the contenders who are next in line for a title shot.

But to many fans surprise, instead of calling for a title shot, Ferguson kept his post-fight octagon interview short. After translation, Ferguson’s words were.

“Thank you for this fight [Rafael Dos Anjos], and viva Mexico”

Shortly after the fight, Ferguson headed backstage where he was interviewed by MMAJunkie. During the interview, he said.

“RDA posed no threat to me. I felt not one time that I was in any danger… I went five rounds against the ex champ, I went toe-to-toe, and that dude tried to shoot in on me I almost broke his leg with my shin.”

He then went on to say.

“There are two divisions that I would love to be able to go into… I can go down to 145, I can kick everyone’s butt there, I can bump back up to 155, knock everybody out and finish them and you’re damn sure I can go up to 170 and do the same thing. I want to be a multi-division champ, I’m not going to talk my way to get there.”

Tony Ferguson without a doubt is one of the Lightweight division’s biggest stars and although he is yet to win UFC gold, it is not too much of a push to see him being crowned champion in more than one of the three weights he claimed to be interested in.

Will he be rewarded an instant title shot after UFC 205? Will he have to go through Khabib Nurmagomedov or will he have to wait in line until his chance arises?
