Stefan Struve – “Brock Lesnar doesn’t belong here”
UFC Heavyweight veteran, Stefan Struve believes Brock Lesnar has no place in the UFC.
After rumours began to circulate that a Brock Lesnar return to the UFC Heavyweight division look more and more likely, there has been mixed reactions from the UFC superstars, including a not so nice welcome message from Dutch Heavyweight, Stefan Struve.
While talking to MMAJunkie, Struve claimed WWE powerhouse, Brock Lesnar, ‘doesn’t belong here’.
“No, he doesn’t belong here in my opinion.”
Struve has also been quoted saying.
“He got caught, and just look at that guy. He’s a physical specimen, but it doesn’t make sense. The way they brought him in with the exemption for him not having to do the testing for the four months when he came back, that’s ridiculous.
“You bring someone back, a guy who looks like him, and he doesn’t have to get tested, and then fights? Mark Hunt, he’s in the right. Of course he’s upset with that.”
Lesnar, who turns 41 in July later this year, tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs at UFC 200, where his win over Mark Hunt was overturned to a No Contest.
Because of this, Struve had this to say.
“I get why they’ll bring him back, because he brings pay-per-views… But also he brings a certain image that’s not good for the sport.”
Struve, who is freshly coming off a decision loss to Andrei Arlovski, has urgently been pushing for a UFC title shot in recent times, having already bested the current Heavyweight champion in their past meeting.
Will we see Struve welcome Lesnar if the ex-Heavyweight champion makes his UFC return?
