Khabib Nurmagomedov’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz is becoming increasingly impatient with the lightweight contender, Tony Ferguson as a lightweight super fight between the two continues to stall although the interim lightweight championship would most likely be no the line as Conor McGregor is having some time away from the sport. Abdelaziz has become that frustrated with the situation that he took to twitter on Wednesday night to vent his frustration in a tweet that has since been deleted. The tweet read:
“You have 6 days to make a deal with the UFC (and) if you don’t make a deal I’m going to find someone else to fight @danawhite”
The negotiations have been in a stalemate as of late with UFC president, Dana White confirming Ferguson is demanding to be paid the same amount as Nurmagomedov but White and the UFC are not willing to budge as they want Ferguson to honour his current UFC contract. The back and forth between the number 1 and 2 lightweight contenders has gone to extreme lengths with Khabib offering Ferguson $200k of his own money if he were to take the fight. Ferguson declined Nurmagomedov’s offer of $200k to take the fight as he believes the money should come from the UFC and not Khabib.
