Joe Rogan brought it up on his very popular podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, he said: “Apparently they offered Nick Diaz Robbie Lawler, and Nick passed on it”. Of course, we are not to know if this is true but fight fans wouldn’t be complaining if Nick were to come back and fight anybody. Current Welterweight Champ Tyron Woodley is protesting for a fight against not only Nick Diaz but Conor McGregor, GSP and Aldo too. Anybody he feels is going to give him a BIG payday.
If Rogan’s correct, we will never get to see a rematch that has been desired by fight fans for years. Diaz and Lawler, who stand out as two of the most violent fighters in MMA, first met in the Octagon way back in 2004.
Nick Diaz has also been offered current UFC Lightweight champion, Conor McGregor, however, Nick declined this super-fight too. There is no secrecy surrounding the offer that was declined, though Nick had this to say about the matter: “That is Nate’s fight” and he wouldn’t take that away from his little brother.
I have confirmed that Nick Diaz recently turned down a fight with UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor.
