MMA Thread Interviews Paul ‘Semtex’ Daley.

“MVPs time will come”

On June 1st, 2017, MMA Thread caught up with one of the best MMA fighters to come out of England. That fighter was Paul ‘Semtex’ Daley. Known for his explosive power and never one to mince his words, we asked him about his gym, Bellator and his fight with Rory MacDonald.

[MMA Thread] You posted on Facebook that fighting isn’t a rich man’s sport, can you elaborate on this a bit more?

[PD] How many public school boys are fighting in a cage or boxing ring for a living?
[MMA Thread] So Paul you’ve fought in all the big promotions across the world. Have you finally found your home in Bellator?

[PD] Yes, right now, Bellator feels like home.

At some point I would still love this rematch. But he had to win a few.

[MMA Thread] As well as being one of the world’s top MMA fighters, you also partake in K-1 and kickboxing. Do you plan on any more K-1 or Kickboxing bouts?

[PD] My aim to hold internationally recognised “K-1” and MMA titles before I retire.

[MMA Thread] You recently welcomed Rory MacDonald to Bellator and unfortunately lost. Did you expect Rory to take the fight to the ground?

[PD] Yes, but not as quickly as he did. I thought there would be more standup exchanges before his attempts to take the fight down.

[MMA Thread] You have massive punching power, do you think the result would have been different if Rory had stood and traded punches with you?

[MMA Thread] Would you like a rematch against Rory or would you rather face MVP, as MVP seems to have gotten your back up a fair bit?

[PD] MVP’s time will come. Right now I just need to get back fighting, I’m already training.

[MMA Thread] Last question for you.  Are you disappointed you didn’t get to settle the score with Josh Koscheck after he pulled out of your Bellator 158 bout?

[PD] At some point I would still love this rematch. But he had to win a few.

MMA Thread would like to thank Paul Daley for taking the time to do this interview.
