Mike Tyson has his say on McGregor Vs. Mayweather

“If two people are fighting, people will pay for it.”

Many people have weighed in on the ‘Money Fight’ ever since rumours started. From fans, celebrities, journalist and fighters themselves. Now the fight has an actual chance of happening, even more people are having their say. The latest to do so is former heavyweight champion and Boxing legend Mike Tyson. Tyson is a known fan of MMA, even having a guest appearance on The Ultimate Fighter. That doesn’t mean he’s lost loyalty to the sport he once ruled.

The Champ speaks.

Tyson gave his verdict on how he thinks the match up will go, whilst also responding to Oscar De La Hoya‘s quote. De La Hoya claims that the ‘Money Fight’ is nothing more than a cash grab and it will ruin boxing. Speaking on Sirius XM channel 93, Tyson had this to say. “No, I don’t believe it can ruin boxing at all. Only way it can ruin boxing is if McGregor goes and boxes Floyd because he’s going to look really ridiculous boxing him.” “But if he goes in there with the UFC stuff, now this could be pretty interesting.”

With Tyson saying that, he doesn’t give McGregor much of a chance at all. The bout is sanctioned to be a boxing match only. So that means McGregor won’t be able to use his wide range of MMA skills against Mayweather‘s superior boxing. Even though Tyson thinks it will be a one sided fight he also had this to say: “People will pay for anything, If two people are fighting, people will pay for it.”

As of now, there is no official match-up being made, although McGregor has signed his contract. Mayweather is still yet to sign his. McGregor signed his last month you can read that here.

Do you agree with Tyson? Do you think De La Hoya is right?
