Following an incredible night in California at UFC 214, Jon Jones has been given the number 1 spot in the official UFC pound-for-pound rankings. Jones secured the place at the top by scoring a KO victory over Daniel Cormier. This victory also gained him the light-heavyweight title.

Previously the P4P number 1 spot was filled by the flyweight Demetrious Johnson, Johnson is now the joint holder of the longest active title defence streak with 10 consecutive defences under his belt. Johnson shares this record with Anderson Silva, however Silva is no longer a reigning champion and so Johnson has the opportunity to beat the record.

Following her win of the vacant women’s featherweight title, Cris Cyborg has also climbed higher in the rankings.
