Joe Soto Replaces Guido Cannetti At UFC FN 98
Joe Soto will fight Marco Beltran at UFC FN 98 after replacing Guido Cannetti
The highly anticipated rematch between Guido Cannetti and Marco Beltran, which is scheduled for November 5 in Mexico City was cancelled, forcing the UFC to find a replacement with only one-week notice.
Guido Cannetti was flagged by USADA for a possible anti-doping violation, UFC confirmed on Saturday.
UFC then announced on Monday that Joe Soto will step in as a late replacement to fight Marco Beltran at UFC FN 98. The fight will take place as a 140-pound catchweight contest with both fighters agreeing to the stipulation.
Former Bellator Featherweight champion, Joe Soto, has contended for the UFC Bantamweight title once, where he suffered defeat to TJ Dillashaw losing via fifth-round knockout.
Soto comes in as favourite to win the bout and although fans were eager to see the rematch between Cannetti and Beltran after their controversial first fight, the matchup that awaits is sure not going to disappoint.
Is the replacement good enough? Who will win? Let us know in the comments.
