There has been much speculation around Joe Rogan stepping into an Octagon, the 49-year-old earned his black belt under the 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu founder, Eddie Bravo. Rogan is also a black belt in taekwondo, and karate. He competed in the US Open grand championship tournament (meaning that as a lightweight, he also defeated competitors of the middle and heavyweight classes).
Many people have called for Rogan to have just one fight in the UFC, but there are many factors to be successful inside of the octagon. One of those is a strong chin. Because nobody has ever seen Joe in that type of situation who is to say he can’t go and destroy one man inside the cage. Is it too late?
When CM Punk was first announced to fight in the UFC many people including some Pro MMA fighters, such as Joe Lauzon took to Twitter and expressed that they wanted to see Joe Rogan welcome Punk to the UFC.
Joe has never been shy to talk about potential matchups, however, Back in 2005, Joe was supposed to meet veteran actor Wesley Snipes in an MMA fight. Apparently, this was just a rumor and realistically would never have happened. “I just didn’t think that anybody who didn’t know any jiu-jitsu could learn it quick,” Rogan said. “I was already a brown belt by then, and I just knew what happened when a brown belt fights a white belt. I just can’t imagine.”
Who would you like to see Joe Rogan fight? Also, how do you think he would fair facing up against the talent in the Lightweight (155lbs) roster?
