Germaine de Randamie set to make return

Former women’s featherweight champion makes her move back to bantamweight

Former women’s featherweight champion Germaine de Randamie has a date and opponent for her bantamweight return.

Germaine was stripped of her title last month when she refused to fight the number one contender Cris Cyborg at UFC 215Cyborg has since subsequently been booked to face Tonya Evinger for the now vacant title.

Germaine will now officially make her return to the 135lb division when she fights on UFC Fight Night 115 which will take place in the Netherlands and will stream live on UFC Fight Pass.

Her opponent will be Marion Reneau who is coming in off a draw to Bethe Correia at UFC Fight Night 106.

Germaine won the inaugural women’s UFC featherweight championship back at UFC 208 in February when she defeated Holy Holm via a unanimous decision – Randamine’s title reign was short lived however when she refused to fight Cyborg because she believed Cyborg is a “known and proven cheater

UFC Fight Night 115 takes place on September 2nd at the Ahoy Rotterdam in Rotterdam, Netherlands – The event will be headlined by a heavyweight bout between Stefan Struve and Alexander Volkov.

Also featuring on the card is Rustam Khabilov as he takes on Desmond Green and Leon Edwards as he faces off against Bryan Barberena.
