Floyd Mayweather Gives Encouragement To Ronda Rousey

Could this be the start of a new friendship?

Ronda Rousey returned to the octagon in December 2016 for the first time in over a year.

All the hype in the media surrounded Rousey as she was favourite to win back her Women’s Bantamweight title from defending champion and dangerous striker, Amanda Nunes.

Surprisingly, Ronda Rousey suffered her second consecutive defeat after just 48 seconds of the fight.

In the past, Ronda Rousey and boxer, Floyd Mayweather have had their differences and was both believed to hold a minor hatred for one another, with Rousey being more open about her disliking of Mayweather.

There was even a comparison between the two fighters as fans would often debate on who would win if they was to fight.

But now, in a recent interview with FightHype, Floyd Mayweather appeared to be respectful towards the Women’s Bantamweight star and even offered some advice.

“I want Ronda Rousey to hold your head up, stay focused, keep believing, a true champion can bounce back.”

Floyd Mayweather then went on to say.

“Ronda Rousey hold your head up, you’re still a true champion in our eyes. You made women MMA huge, so stay focused, go back to the drawing board and do what you got to do.”

Although Ronda Rousey is yet to react, we feel she will be a little less disrespectful towards the boxer and might even take his words as encouragement.

Watch the short interview with Mayweather below and hear what the boxing legend had to say.
