Faber: Northcutt ‘probably’ training at TAM in the future
It looks like ‘super’ sage has found a new home.
Team Alpha Male need to hide their supply of apples because it seems the apple destroyer Sage Northcutt could be on his way to Team Alpha Male, we had seen Sage frequently in the company of the Owner of Team Alpha Male Urijah Faber and the Bantamweight Champion Cody Garbrandt.
Urijah Faber confirmed on the MMA hour that Sage was currently working closely with his gym ahead of his July 29th bout at UFC 214 with Lightweight Contender Claudio Puelles. Faber said, “He’s out here learning the good stuff, he and I just got done doing a little private (lesson).” In this time in the UFC the 21-Year-Old prospect has amounted a 3-2 UFC record since Debuting back in October 2015 Defeating Francisco Trevino via TKO in 57 seconds, he recently announced he would be studying in Texas so he can fully commit to his UFC Career. Sage has trained at a handful of Gyms in the past such as Montreal’s Tristar Gym. But now it seems he has found his new home in Sacremento.
Faber commented further on Sage by saying “Right now, he works out with one of my very good buddies out of Paradigm in Texas, who I actually coached in college at UC Davis, and so, this is a week out (for him) right now. He’s got a full camp, so I’m not sure how much he’s going to be out here for his camp, but it’s probably going to be a more permanent thing for him moving forward. But as of right now, he’s kind of splitting time, and man, what a fast learner and what a positive guy. He’s fun to be around.” Faber denied reports that he would be cornering Sage in his up and coming fight.
