Dana White and Floyd Mayweather both deny recent McGregor vs Mayweather rumours
UFC President Dana White and Floyd Mayweather himself both shoot down rumours of a McGregor vs Mayweather deal.
The mixed martial arts world was set ablaze yesterday when a report surfaced from the Irish Sun newspaper claiming that a fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather was close to being finalised.
The tabloid claimed a source close to McGregor had told them that Conor and Floyd “have both settled on their respective fees.” but also added, “The contract hasn’t officially been signed yet because of a third-party hold-up, but all the details have all been agreed on.”
UFC President Dana White was quick to shoot down the rumours, speaking with TMZ sports, White stated: “There is no Deal.” Later Floyd Mayweather took to social media and confirmed there was no deal in place despite previously telling ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, that they were “Very, Very close”.

While many fans and media remain sceptical of the fight ever happening, McGregor is adamant his next bout will be against Floyd Mayweather, although now it seems the deal might not be a close to finalised as we thought it may be.
