Conor McGregor vs Tyron Woodley?

What’s next for the UFC’s current biggest star?

There is a huge debate surrounding Conor McGregor and his future activity in the UFC or elsewhere.

The main rumours are pointing McGregor towards a title defence against Khabib Nurmagomedov, a rematch with Jose Aldo and a possible trilogy fight with Nate Diaz.

But one fighter that continues to get his name mentioned in the same sentence as Conor McGregor, is current welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley.

McGregor and Woodley have been throwing minor insults and going back and forth with each other for some time now and many believe a fight is being lined up for McGregor to potentially become a champion in his third successive weight.

Among the names predicting the fight to happen is Khabib‘s manager, Ali Abdel-Aziz who opened up while speaking to MMAJunkie.

“Let me make a prediction, McGregor’s next fight is going to be Tyron Woodley for the Welterweight title.”

Abdel-Aziz went on to say.

“This is the fight that’s going to happen. Every sign is this is going to happen.”

Although we can’t argue with the fact that McGregor and Woodley have had their moments and there are signs showing this as a possible match-up, we have to question whether McGregor will be allowed to retain his lightweight title if he fights Woodley in favour of attempting his first title defence.

What’s next for McGregor? Could he be named the Welterweight champion? What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
