Conor McGregor has skyrocketed up the ‘Worlds highest-paid athletes of 2017’ list.
It has been another fantastic year for the UFC lightweight champion Conor Mcgregor. Last year the Irish-born star made his first appearance on the rich list coming in at 85th place earning an estimated $18 million in winnings for fights and a whopping 4 million in endorsements, but he quickly correcting this stating he had made more money closer to the $40 million mark.
But after a strong year, the ‘Notorious’ has something to smile about with a spot at 24th this represents $27 million Dollar fight winnings and $7 million in endorsements this means a net value of $34 million this keeps him around some of the highest paid stars on the planet like Footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic, World Record Breaker Sprinter Usain Bolt, American Football star Antonio Brown and drawing level with Footballer Gareth Bale. He has a long way to go before he breaks into the top three elite paid athletes, Real Madrid footballer Christiano Ronaldo ($93 million), the NBA’S LeBron James ($86.2 million) and Barcelona footballer Lionel Messi ($80 million). Conor is in talks with Boxer Floyd Mayweather and UFC president Dana White spoke on ‘The Herd with Colin Cowherd‘ saying “It depends on how much the fight sells. And if the fight sells as well as I think it can, Floyd makes a little north of $100 (million) and Conor makes $75 (million).” This statement means a lot has changed since Dana offered both sides $25 million to make this fight happen, but this offer seemed to humour Mayweather sparking him to call Dana a “F**king comedian”
