Boxing vs MMA – The UFC Takeover

Looking towards a combat sports fight card like never before.

With Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather the fight on everyone’s lips, we take a look at a potential ‘UFC Takeover‘, Boxing event.

With more and more UFC fighters expressing their interest in making the transition to Boxing, with some saying they would like to fight on the same card as McGregor vs Mayweather and some even calling out professional boxers, we put together a card which we think could be a possibility.

Firstly, we take a look at the main event, who would very likely be the mega-fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather.

This fight is looking most likely to happen as both superstar fighters have continuously been at each other’s throats over interviews and social media, and dates have even been given for their potential super fight.

Secondly, although he doesn’t have a known opponent, we believe competing in the co-main event would be Nate Diaz.

Nate Diaz has admitted he would be interested in competing in the Boxing ring and having trained and sparred with top class professional boxers before, we believe Diaz would happily take the co-main event on this super-card.

Next, we take a look at multiple other fights which have a high possibility of eventually happening.

Anderson Silva vs Roy Jones Jr.

News has surfaced once again that a possible Boxing bout between the two stars is going to happen.

Roy Jones Jr. has shared his interest in fighting on the undercard of the McGregor vs Mayweather fight, which is why we couldn’t miss including this matchup.

Jimi Manuwa vs David Haye

A small rivalry seems to be brewing between these two heavy hitters as UFC Light Heavyweight, Jimi Manuwa, called out David Haye after his most recent knockout win.

Manuwa did eventually say he doesn’t have a personal problem with Haye but is still open to the challenge.

The card already looks like a cross-promotional super-card and with UFC fighters such as Cody Garbrandt, Nick Diaz and Holly Holm having already competed in the sport of Boxing, this event could have all the potential to be the biggest, most sold and most watched Pay-Per-View in combat sports history.

Did we miss anyone? What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
