Bigfoot Silva Booked To Fight In Russia?
Fighting in Russia following Antonio Silva’s release from the UFC.
It seems Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva has bounced back after being released by the UFC and is already scheduled to fight later this year.
Last week, UFC announced the 13 fighters they had cut from the company with Bigfoot being the most reputable of the group. A shadow of doubt was cast over Antonio Silva’s career, with many fans questioning whether he should continue in the sport after suffering back to back knockout losses to Mark Hunt, Stefan Struve and most recently Roy Nelson.
But instead, the Brazilian has decided to head to Russia where he will compete for Titov Boxing Promotion on November 18. His first fight, which is expected to headline the event, will be against the Russian-born Ivan Shtyrkov. The Russian is undefeated in his first 4 fights in MMA, claiming 2 wins via TKO and 2 wins via submission.
Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva spoke to MMA Junkie about his decision.
“I’m very excited about the upcoming fight against Shtyrkov”
Bigfoot went on to say
“I have made many fans in Japan, Brazil and the U.S., and I will make amazing fans in Russia.”
An interesting decision to say the least, but I’m sure we MMA fans are excited to see if he can give us one last push in the sport and showcase the talent we all know he has.
