Amanda Nunes is slated to defend her UFC bantamweight title against Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 213 in July although the bout is yet to be announced by the UFC but it seems it will feature on the card with the possibility of the main event spot.
“Talk MMA” first reported the news on Twitter.
Nunes is looking to make her second successful title defense after demolishing former champ Ronda Rousey in just 48 seconds at UFC 207. The American Top Team fighter is currently on a five-fight win streak winning four by finishes and currently holds a win over current featherweight champion Germaine De Randamie.
Shevchenko, meanwhile, has won two straight and seven out of eight, dominating Holly Holm in a decision win last summer, Shevchenko then received a main event spot against top prospect Julianna Pena back in January, after receiving some criticism for her ground game Shevchenko silenced any critics with a submission win over Pena to solidify her spot as the number one contender.
