Amanda Nunes and Cat Zingano trade shots on social media

Nunes and Zingano do not like each other.

Last Friday at UFC 207Amanda Nunes successfully defended her UFC women’s bantamweight championship for the very first time, destroying former champ Ronda Rousey in just 48 seconds.

Nunes now sits atop the women’s 135 pound division and finds herself with a slew of talented contenders eager to challenge for her belt, including the likes of Julianna Pena, Valentina Shevchenko, Raquel Pennington and Cat Zingano.

After Nunes‘  impressive victory, Zingano apparently decided to check out some photos of the belt on the champs twitter account, only to find she had been blocked by Nunes. Zingano then decided to call out Amanda in a tweet.

This prompted a response from Nunes, who suggested that her and Zingano are not friends, and that she should google the pictures if she really wants to see them.

Nunes and Zingano have a history of bad blood stemming back to their UFC 178 bout during which Zingano managed to survive an early onslaught and eventually TKO Nunes in the third round.

Since then Nunes has gone on a five fight winning streak defeating some of the biggest names in the division including Meisha Tate and Ronda Rousey.

Meanwhile Zingano has gone 0-2 since defeating Amanda Nunes, first losing to Ronda Rousey in just 14 seconds at UFC 184, and then to Julianna Pena at UFC 200. But she does hold a win over the current champ and remains one of the toughest competitors in the division, so with a win or two she could potentially receive a shot at the title.

Do you want to see a rematch between Nunes and Zingano with a title on the line? And who do you think would win? Let us know in the comment section below.
