Alexander Gustafsson vs. Glover Teixeira Set For UFC Stockholm
According to multiple sources Alexander Gustafsson will face Glover Teixeira in Sweden
According to MMA journalist, Ariel Helwani, Alexander Gustafsson and Glover Teixeira are set to face off inside the octagon at UFC Stockholm in May. The two were originally supposed to fight in June 2015 but the fight never came to fruition due to an injury Gustafsson sustained in the lead-up to the light heavyweight clash.
Gustafsson only fought once in 2016 when he defeated Jan Blachowicz at UFC fight Night 93 on his return to the octagon after nearly a year since his previous fight. The Swedish fighter was regarded as one of the best fighters in the light heavyweight decision and was touted as the fighter that could finally dethrone Jon Jones. After a five round war, Gustafsson lost the fight with Jones via unanimous decision but got closer than any other fighter ever had to beaten Jones. Since that fight, Gustafsson has gone 2-2 in the UFC and confessed that he was having doubts about his fighting career but now after getting the win against Blachowicz, “The Mauler” looks like his old self.
Teixeira bounced back from a vicious KO defeat to Anthony Johnson by beating Jared Cannonier at the recent UFC 208 in Brooklynn. Teixeira who is now 37 years of age is still considered one of the top light heavyweights in the world and will be no easy fight for Gustafsson.
Who do you think would win this light heavyweight clash?
